This Privacy Policy explains how HeadsUp Hockey, Inc. (“HeadsUp Hockey,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the HeadsUp Hockey mobile application (the “App”). By using the App, you agree to this Policy.

1. Age requirement and children (COPPA)

The App is intended for users 13 years of age or older. When you first open the App, we ask for your date of birth before collecting anything.

If you are under 13, the App runs in a private, on-device mode. In this mode:

  • No account is created and no personal information is collected, transmitted, or stored on our servers.
  • Your camera recording and shot analysis run entirely on your device.
  • Nothing is uploaded, shared, or saved to the cloud, and social features (feed, friends, teams, leaderboards) are not available.

Because we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, COPPA’s parental-consent requirements are not triggered. If you believe a child under 13 has somehow provided us personal information, contact us at info@headsuphockey.ai and we will delete it.

2. Information we collect (users 13 and older)

Account identifier

We use anonymous, device-based authentication. You can use the App without giving us your name or email. We assign your device a random account identifier so your data can sync. If you choose to add a display name, avatar, or other profile details, we store those.

Camera recordings and analysis

When you record a practice session, the App captures video and analyzes your shots. With your consent, we upload to our cloud storage: (a) a compressed (720p) copy of your session video, (b) a thumbnail, and (c) a derived analysis file. To improve our shot-detection models, we may also retain a small random sample (approximately 10%) of higher-resolution frames from your sessions. Uploads power replay, cross-device sync, sharing, and model improvement. You can decline video upload and still use on-device analysis.

Performance and gameplay data

Shot counts, accuracy, shot locations/zones, release and consistency metrics, your HUH Score, achievements, goals, challenge progress, session history, and (for competitive features) match results and rating.

Social and user-generated content

If you use social features, we store content you create or share — feed posts, friend connections, team membership and activity, challenge participation, and leaderboard standings — and make it visible according to your sharing settings.

Device and technical data

A push-notification token (only if you enable notifications), crash and diagnostic reports, basic usage analytics, and algorithm diagnostic traces that help us debug and improve shot analysis.

Purchases

Your subscription and entitlement status. Payments are processed by Apple — we never receive your full payment-card details. We store a purchase/entitlement token to grant and verify your access, including access unlocked via a redemption code.

3. How we use information

  • To provide and operate the App — analyze your shots, sync your data, and run social and competitive features.
  • To improve and develop our shot-detection models and the App’s features.
  • To process subscriptions, redemption codes, and entitlements.
  • To send notifications you’ve enabled.
  • To provide support, prevent fraud and abuse, enforce our Terms, and comply with law.

4. How information is shared

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers that operate the App on our behalf:

  • Apple — for in-app purchases and subscription management.
  • Google Firebase / Google Cloud — for authentication, database, file storage, push messaging, crash reporting, and app-integrity checks. Data is processed on servers located in the United States.
  • Other users — content you choose to share through social features is visible to them per your settings.
  • Legal — when required by law, or to protect our rights, users, or the public.

5. Data retention and deletion

We keep your information while your account is active. You can delete individual session videos in the App, which removes the video and its derived copies. You can also delete your account from within the App, which removes your personal data from our active systems (some information may persist briefly in backups or where retention is legally required).

6. Your choices and rights

You can decline video upload, disable notifications, and delete sessions or your entire account in the App. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at info@headsuphockey.ai.

7. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards, including encrypted transmission and access-controlled cloud storage, to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. International users

We operate the App from, and store data in, the United States. If you use the App from outside the U.S., you consent to processing your information in the United States.

9. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, provide notice in the App.
